Okay so i just played through, and it was great, but i'm confused. Everyone talks about an ending where he kills someone or a bad end but my ending was just that me, the online friend and ren stayed at his apartment. That was all that happened, no secret anything. I am NOT complaining, just very confused.
There are no endings where Ren kills anyone. There are "Dead Ends" (which you can get by making certain choices), but nobody dies or gets killed. Ren just restarts the day to give the player a second chance.
It's also possible for certain characters to die; however, their deaths happen off-screen, and it's not explicitly stated whether Ren was the one who killed them. They're also not endings.
You might also be thinking of the alleyway scene in Day 5; however, it's not an ending. It can only be unlocked by going down the "Decay" route.
Spoilers on how to unlock it: you'll need to pick all the indignant and dismissive options during Days 1-5 (basically... be mean to all the characters lmao), then dismiss Ren at the beach during Day 5. This isn't necessary, but if you want to guarantee getting the alleyway scene, I'd also suggest encouraging Ren's dark behaviour and showing interest in them whenever possible.
i love the game but i honestly just hate how much we talk about the WORST thing to ever exist. ANIME. our character is just so obsessed with anime but in reality, just the thought of it makes me wanna kms. LITERALLY every time we talk about that slop i have to shut the game down and reflect JUST STOP WITH THE ANIME OBSESSION, THIS GAME IS BASICALLY JUST CENTERED AROUND ANIME
You're going to hate the art style the sprites and CGs are drawn in then T_T
But on a more serious note, I don't think I'll be able to outright remove Angel's interest in anime and manga. The whole point of the "Ren"/Haruko persona is to resemble Angel's favourite anime character and to have them see Ren as their ideal type. If I remove that core feature, it'd make no sense for Ren to have pink hair, act shy and timid, or show up at the manga store during Day 3. Anime is also one of the main reasons why Angel and Moth are such good friends in the first place, and it plays a big role in Moth's connection with them and their role in the game.
If this isn't for you, I'd suggest dropping 14DWY and finding another visual novel that you can enjoy instead!
I REALLY MEANT NO HATE TO YOU AT ALL IM SORRY 😔 it's not that I hate the artstyle it's more that I hate the fandoms and how weird they make some animes ... You seriously have great writing skills and art, i just hate the constant anime mentions KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK 😛

I used to be a part of those communities but since I am Asian, I unfortunately met many racial fetishists/weebs who objectified me. I distanced myself from all of my former fandoms and gradually lost interest in the media as well. So I lose my immersion when my character talks to the online friend. It's not something I relate to. But since I still love the game, I just imagine the conversation is about something else. Dialogue that feels OOC for you is just unavoidable in visual novels, so I often imagine things differently in the games I play.
I feel like a LOT of visual novels become more interesting if a character has a unique personality that the person playing doesn't personally align with. Sure, it's fine to go the safe route where the player can personally project themselves into the story, but it's also very fun to play with a perspective different from your own.

Some CGs can only be unlocked by viewing the Dead Ends, and by the sounds of things, you haven't unlocked the alleyway CG as well. To obtain it (and get the option to kick someone in the leg), you just need to pick all the "mean" options, then dismiss Ren at the beach during Day 5. Choosing to encourage Ren's dark behaviour is completely optional, but encouraged if you want to 100% guarantee getting the CG.
...i love it. Sigh, I get really disappointed when I finish the fifth day, but I gotta be patient for more days :)

Ive just downloaded the game and Ive been trying to find where the option to change the MC's pronouns were but it was just not there... Where is it?? 😭
Creating a custom character will give you the option to change your pronouns. Playing as the default character will not give you any customisable options.

Either start a brand new game or continue playing until you reach the end of the demo. I suggest starting a new game, as it unlocks some new features!
But if you don't want to do all that, there is also a setting in the "data management" screen that will return the game back to normal.

You'll need to purchase it from the DLC page. Donations on either the 14DWY page or the DLC page will not grant you a download key, unfortunately ^^;
